The most memorable features of the night were a bad sound system and low seating (stage height). The voice of It's A Wonderful Life: A Live Radio Play was muffled and unidentifiable for the most part, with microphone squeals permeating the entire show. I truly would have enjoyed the show if it weren't for the bad seating and sound system. Their energy was commendable, though. Forget it, my poor wife had a hard time seeing the stage, as did I at 6'2". The idiots with cowboy hats only made matters worse. Come on, don't be retards; you're blocking the view for everyone behind you. Easy parking and access at the venue was pretty good, and dinner at the buffet was actually decent.
Seinfeld was "great" you have to go!
At the Pantages on Friday night, "It's A Wonderful Life: A Live Radio Play" did a fantastic show. Our group, which consisted of me, my husband, and another couple, attended the second show of the night. The comedy was clean and very relatable, and we all laughed continuously. The opening act was also great and really funny, with a clean comic who didn't need profanity to be funny. Jerry, whom we've seen before but it was a long time ago, was much more animated and moved around the stage more than I remembered. He takes the simple things in life and highlights them in a very amusing way. Worth every penny! I would see him again in a heartbeat. The extra time he spent when he came back out to answer questions was a nice bonus.
Cage the Elephant was really good and enjoyable. Personally, I could have done without An Horse. I do give them credit for ending their set with "I Wanna Be Your Dog" though. They are a good band and their CD is really good, but the lead singer's Iggy Pop impression left a lot to be desired, in my opinion. I wouldn't go so far as to say I didn't enjoy them, but I can't say I'd ever want to see them again. It's A Wonderful Life: A Live Radio Play, on the other hand, were fantastic! They're a great band, with great musicians playing great songs. To me, everything about them was enjoyable and they just plain rocked! I first saw them a few years ago and they just keep getting better and better!
